Brembo M50 Titanium ventilated pistons

Sale Price:$140.00 Original Price:$160.00
sold out

CNC machined from Ti6Al4V, these ventilated titanium pistons help prevent brake fade during demanding track riding. The factory pistons from Brembo, while being a beautifully machined piece with type 3 hardcoat anodizing, are also the worst possible material for a caliper piston being Aluminum. Aluminum offers great thermal conductivity which works against what you want in a brake piston, transferring a large portion of heat developed from the brake pads directly to the brake fluid (the key element in brake fade). Titanium offers very low thermal conductivity allowing you to isolate the generated heat from your brake fluid. The addition of radial venting furthers the cooling of the piston.

It is recommended to replace hydraulic and dust seals when installing, although not 100 percent necessary. Typically a large amount of crud gathers beneath the dust seal so this should be removed for thorough cleaning to prevent pad drag (really a good practice for general caliper maintenance).

Sold in sets of 4 (dual front disc brakes will require 8 total pistons or 2 sets). These are a drop in replacement for Brembo M50 calipers. Although Brembo Stylema also uses 30MM diameter pistons, these are slightly shorter in length and not a recommended fitment for that caliper. Please see option for Brembo Stylema Titanium pistons for the optimal length.

Weight per piston: 25 grams
